What to Wear
Deciding what to wear to a photo shoot can be a stressful
task. There are so many choices out there it's hard to narrow down how
you want to look. Not only that but ideas are coming from left and
right! As much as I love Pintrest some times it can be a little
overwhelming. Don't worry I'm here to help give outfit ideas for
children, couples, family and graduates!

#1 Comfort and fit.
Comfort is key. When choosing clothes for your kids they have to feel good in their clothes and make sure it fits them well and there is not a lot of room to grow in.
Also for mom and dad, if it doesn't feel right try something different. It doesn’t mean you have to give up style or color just pick something else in the same style/color but fits better. Graduates, pick something you are confident in and absolutely love. Wear nice but comfortable shoes. If you want to wear heels try breaking them in before the shoot.
Remember sessions can last between 1-2 hours!

#2 Layers, Patterns and Accessorize!
Layers
are basically outer wear, such as sweaters, vests, cardigans and
leggings. Patterns can be so much fun. But as the saying goes, simple is
best. Don’t go over board with patterns. If your little one is wearing a
pretty patterned top then pair it with a solid color bottom. For families, don't be afraid to mix patterns.
Accessorize! Not just with jewelry but also with cute hats, suspenders, scarves, bowties and ties! Again simple is best!
This goes to parents and graduates too. Patterns like polka dots, stripes or floral pattern can be great to bring some fun to a shoot. Statement necklaces are great pieces to add some interest to a subtle outfit.
Note: Please no logo or cartoon tees (unless it goes with the theme).

Plan
each outfit from head to toe. Meaning don’t forget about the shoes!
Some outfits look great with bare feet but it doesn’t mean every outfit
doesn’t need shoes. For boys: don’t bring sport sneakers (unless you are doing a sports theme shoot) instead opt for some Toms,
boots or Converse and pair them with cool socks. For girls: bright
flats/heels, distressed boots, or Converse and pair those with cute
leggings.
For family photos you don't need to wear the same thing to know you are family. Try coordinating colors instead. For example if mom is wearing pink than the kids can wear a blue or even a purple.
Keep them in the same tones. That means if one is wearing a muted
color, like gray, than the other can wear a lavender, rose or teal. Stay away from florescent colors and a lot of green. Green can be just an accent color but not a full outfit.
Note other coordinating colors: (Mint,Peach, Beige) (Plum, Gray,Periwinkle) (Mustard,Purple,Navy)

Remember
we live in Texas. One minute it’s a warm and perfect 80 degrees and
then a cold front comes in and it’s 60 degrees! But as long as it’s not
raining the photo shoot must go on.
So be a little flexible when it comes to wardrobe. If you have your
heart set on your cutie wearing that fun summer dress add some leggings
and a cardigan. Or you wanted your little guy to wear that awesome shirt
have him wear a nice blazer or jacket.
#6 Dress For The Situation/Theme
If you want something more urban/city feel go for that nice black dress with a beautiful statement necklace and for him a buttoned down shirt with slacks. You want a ranch setting maybe heels won't be the best thing but try some nice boots instead. Doesn't mean you can't wear that beautiful skirt in a woodsy area just pair that skirt with flats or boots.

Try
something different. Let your kids choose an outfit. Try a color you
never thought you would like. Put on a shoe that is a little different.
Get inspiration from your favorite singer or your kids favorite movie. A
part of letting your kids be kids is letting them express themselves
through clothes. If your little girl likes Batman but loves ballet, pair
a Batman tee with a tulle skirt or your little boy has a favorite shirt
let him wear it.
If you are graduating be yourself. If you love floral prints but have a little edge try a floral dress and a cute leather jacket and some boots. For guys you want a more laid back feel where a long sleeve shirt (roll up the sleeves), a nice pair of jeans and some Converse.
